June 8 : An animal

June 8 : an animal #peacock I painted at a painting party #fmsphotoaday #whenyoudrinkwhileyoupaintyoucanbearty

For our friend's bachelorette party, we threw her a surprise painting party. There is a place in Charlotte called Painting with a Twist, where they hold painting classes. You pick a painting you like and they teach you how to paint it step by step. Our bride-to-be Jessica, loves peacocks, and her wedding colors are peacock-inspired hues of blues and purples. So this painting was perfect!

@jben0923 bachelorette party! Love you girl! Hope you had fun!

I can't wait for her wedding in August! It'll be in Binghamton, so J & I will head on down to NYC after! If you have places to see or restaurants to recommend, send them my way pretty please!

Crafting: Junior / Teens Halter Top Simplicity Pattern

halter front

I made a couple of these as gifts, but I had to try them on myself! Not having much of a chest meant they fit me perfectly. It's a pity I didn't get to take pictures of the two little cutie pies I gave these tops to. But i gifted a third one to J's cousin and she looks so adorable!!

Does this count as trying out dress patterns? (even though it's the super easy ones?) If so, another off the bucket list please!

Alright, i'll try an actual DRESS pattern one day!

Don't forget, we're giving away a beautiful turquoise necklace handmade by Oksana from Oksana Plus Hobbies. It ends this coming Friday, July 13th so hurry up and enter for a chance to win it!

Happy April Fool's!!

Did you prank someone today?

My girls from the museum and I got together late last evening to prank our boss' (my ex-boss) office. It pays to live just around the corner so I'm always in on their plans.

Our boss-man Barrett is a non-nonsense, straight-face type of guy, at work at least. Sure, he'll come join us for a beer or two after work, but at the workplace, he's real serious.

We wanted to give his office a make-over because we decided he should lighten up. We wrapped everything, down to his name cards and umbrella. We hope he doesn't have an important meeting first thing in the morning today!

Dear Barrett, we hope you like the make-over...

It even has pictures of your favorite boy (bands)!

Crafting: Now THIS is a PROPER quilt!

Photobucket

My ex-boss had a baby girl on Leap Year Day! So she deserves something special!!

This is my third baby blanket, but the first with quilting as well as binding. And can you believe I made my own binding??? I couldn't believe it either, but I was surprised to find it wasn't rocket science.

I know it's not the traditional baby girl pink, but who can resist those cute Matryoshka dolls??

This girl's got style!

Source: None via Kellie on Pinterest

Just finished watching 500 Days of Summer for the 2nd time. I love this movie for its killer soundtrack (lots of Regina Spektor!) and awesome Zooey Deschanel looks.

She's too cute! She always manages to pull off such gorgeous outfits that range from vintage chic to simple elegance. And her hair! *super envious* It always falls perfectly in place - curls and fringe and all!

zooeyhair
Via. Effortless hair. *eek*

And did i mention Zooey's the 'She' in the musical duo She&Him? I want to catch them live in performance! i know they played in NC once. Just checked out their website. Sadly, no touring news. :(

BUT they've just finished a Christmas album. can't wait for that to be released. And the girl has a new TV show on Fox called The New Girl which premieres in September so if you're a fan don't forget to catch it!

Here's a goofy little video of Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to my favorite She&Him tune! Enjoy!

Crafting on a Monday: Sleepover Craft Party!

The girls decided to have a sleepover Sunday night at Lauren's. We had planned on watching movies, eating pizza and sharing girly secrets. *giggles*

Being the over zealous bunny that i am, i also decided to plan for a little activity time to share my crafting love with the girls. I searched for a whole bunch of head accessories' tutorials for the girls to try out. But... lesson learnt: the next time we do crafts in a party, there should just be a little less alcohol involved...

I made Lauren a turquoise flowery headband to match her outfit

Jess likes hers with a big droopy orange bow

Jessie did a modern take on a felt flower piece.

It was such fun i think we're gonna do it again! Both the sleepover and the crafting! Yay!
